Celoxica Holdings plc (AIM: CXA) – a leading provider of electronic system level design technology for the Accelerated Computing and Embedded Systems markets, is pleased to announce that during recent benchtests presented at the AMD Torrenza Initiative seminar last week in Houston, the Company demonstrated a 28 times increase in the processing speed of exploration software using Celoxica technology. This performance confirms evaluation work completed with many financial, oil and gas, and life sciences companies and demonstrates significant acceleration gains at low power consumption using Celoxica’s FPGA based technology.
Celoxica’s comprehensive solution to computer acceleration provides customers with improved revenue opportunity from increased performance as well as lowering operating costs through power saving, reduced cooling needs and lower space requirements. Investment analysis demonstrates that the benefits shown above generate a consistent 10 times return on capital, 50 per cent. higher than for a server without Celoxica’s acceleration.
The Celoxica accelerated computing solutions include the RCHTX acceleration card, and the DK5 software to FPGA compiler. Already being used by computing server customers, these products combine to simplify FPGA co-processing and give software programmers the ability to accelerate their applications and achieve excellent return on investment.
“This is further evidence of the major benefits our technology can deliver making it one of the most attractive solutions to Accelerated Computing. As we add another data point to our list of successes, we are now able to quantify the financial advantages of our FPGA co-processing solution”, said Ian Yeoman, Interim CEO, for Celoxica.
Mike Goddard, senior director, Advanced Technology Planning and Performance Labs, AMD (NYSE: AMD) added, “Celoxica’s integrated acceleration hardware and easy-to-use software programming interface continue to produce successful examples of the value of AMD’s Torrenza initiative.”
