Celoxica Holdings plc (AIM: CXA) - a leading provider of FPGA based High Performance Computing solutions, is today delighted to announce the strengthening of its board through the appointment of Jean-Marc Bouhelier as Non-Executive director.
Jean-Marc has over 20 years experience leading technology and business organisations that have needed to adapt to new developments and changes in the financial markets, a key target market for Celoxica. Jean-Marc was Chief Executive Officer at AEMS from 2004 to 2007 and previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer for Instinet, the largest ECN and Electronic broker in the US. Prior to these roles, Jean-Marc was Global Head of Equity technology at Merrill Lynch between 1996 and 2000 and before that IT development manager at Banque Paribas.
Jean-Marc has invested in the Company and now holds 2,105,263 ordinary shares of 1p each, representing approximately 2.5 per cent. of the Company’s issued ordinary share capital. Jean-Marc is currently a director of Photoways Inc. in the United States and has held directorships in the following organisations within the five years prior to this announcement: Liffe PLC, Coexis Ltd, G Room Ltd and Instinet Europe.
The Company also wishes to announce that Ian Yeoman, non-executive director, has stepped down from the Board with immediate effect. Ian has been on the Board since November 2005 and took on the role of acting Chief Executive Officer whilst the Company searched for a new CEO earlier this year.
Jean-Marc commented, “I have joined Celoxica because I believe they are ideally placed to provide solutions for some of the most challenging problems facing the finance sector. The finance sector faces many challenges such as the exponential development of electronic trading, the growth of complex derivatives trading, an increase in power consumption and cooling requirements and limited modern data center space. These problems make the need for a technology that combines accelerated computing and low power/cooling very acute. I am confident that Celoxica’s solutions can help solve these problems and look forward to helping grow the Company during this exciting phase of the business.”
Lee Staines, Chief Executive of Celoxica commented, “Following the two successful recent proof of concept projects in the financial services market, Jean-Marc’s extensive experience in providing technology solutions for this market will be instrumental in our drive to penetrate it further. The potential for growth in the area is significant and Jean-Marc’s decision to join the board is a fantastic endorsement of our solutions within the financial services market.
The Board would also like to thank Ian for his contribution to the Company and in particular during his period of interim CEO. We wish him well for the future.”
There are no further disclosures to be made in accordance
with Schedule 2(g) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
